Social, Humanitarian, Economical Intervention for Local Development is a local, national humanitarian nongovernmental association that promotes economic development by supporting livelihood and capacity building of the marginalized community groups and offering protection initiatives to vulnerable community categories with women and children as the main focus. SHEILD also operates during times of wars, armed conflicts and natural disasters, responding to resulting emergency situations and brining relief to affected populations
Emergency Unit SHEILD
is created to strengthen the organization’s
capacity to respond to emergencies.
This Unit responds to the humanitarian needs
of populations affected by natural disasters
and armed conflicts and provides emergency
assistance all over South Lebanon.
SHEILD’s Research Unit works on
providing accurate scientific data and studies
that could consolidate
the organization’s academic concept
through the ongoing projects and activities.
the UNIT's goal is to move forward with the government strategic goal in developing social workers’ skills. Nevertheless, the aim is not to offer just a training program, but to expand the spectrum to offer a wide range of management training workshops where it can be tailored to the need of the different NGO’s.
