Social, Humanitarian, Economical Intervention for Local Development

Our Vision

Strategic goals for long-term development, fundraising and partnership opportunities.

Looking ahead

SHEILD aims to build a long-term development strategy that strengthens the organization and the communities it serves.

The vision rests on four connected goals: a sustainable development strategy, increased diversity and fundraising capacity, further progress of funded projects, and enhanced partnership opportunities with local and international donors.

All of this positions the organization to meet the future needs of the communities served in Lebanon.

SHEILD envisions itself as a lasting partner in Lebanon's path to social justice, working across social, humanitarian, and economic dimensions of local development. Its forward-looking agenda rests on several connected aims: a sustainable development strategy, a broader and more resilient fundraising base, steady advancement of the projects already underway, and deeper engagement with national and international donors and partners. By planning beyond immediate relief cycles, the organization seeks to remain ready to respond to emergencies, armed conflicts, and natural disasters while continuing to strengthen livelihoods and the capacity of local, marginalized, and vulnerable populations, including women and children, across areas such as Tyre.

Bringing this vision to life requires a long-term commitment to institutions as much as to communities, which is why capacity building and ongoing training sit at the center of SHEILD's approach. Alongside its development, emergency, and livelihood programs, work in prisons, the judiciary, and public institutions reflects a broader understanding of social justice, one that pairs protection and assistance with education, microcredit, and capacity strengthening of local organizations and community structures. Upholding neutrality, impartiality, and independence, SHEILD aims to be a credible, autonomous voice that responds quickly to humanitarian situations while steadily expanding the economic opportunities available to those it serves.
